hood latch

i must of leaned on the lock while working on the serpentine belt. i shut the hood and it wouldn't close or open. anyone know how to release the hood now?

97 f250 4x4 ext cab tymar filter e4od 410 ts chip dp and 4" exhaust system

take a 1/4inch extension and you should be able to get between the hood and grill with a 10mm or 8mm socket to unbolt the hole latch assembly.

thanks.... i did figure it out. 10mm mounting bolts and it was tough getting to them. bad day...went to start the truck and heard a clunk...shut the truck off opened the hood and found the serpentine belt off the pulley's and a marmot drapped over the lower rad hose. went to find a stick to prod it out of the engine compartment only to have the critter crawl somewhere back toward the underside of the bed. well after putting the serpentine belt back on is when i bugger up the latch.... still don't know where the critter is, but i'm going on 60mph run to see if i can dislodge it, if it's still under the truck.
