Thermostat Housing ?gasket?

I changed my thermostat and my upper housing started leaking so I changed it and now its leaking between the two housings. Is there a gasket that goes between the two. I know there is an O ring type gasket that goes around the thermostat but what about in between the two housings? I tried silicone and it didn't work. All that the auto parts stores show it having just the o ring for the thermostat.

Make sure the ears (where the bolts go through) of the thermostat upper housing are bent up just a tad (put the housing on a flat surface to check) prior to bolting it down. Cheers!

I had the same issue. I used a high temp RTV sealant. Cured.
