Webasto Engine Heater

Has anybody had any experience with Diesel fired block heaters like this? http://www.suremarine.com/body.htm The Webasto TSL-17 comes in a kit designed for 99 up Fords. It's about $1200.00. Has anyone installed one in a 97 or similar? They don't specifically make a kit for a 97, but I've been told the difference is only mount brackets & is simple to adapt.

Re: Webasto Engine Heater

Use them all the time with heavy equipment and would really like one for my van. It usually takes @15 minutes to warm the engine up to operating temps, then it cuts back on the output. I usually install them with the timed controller so that it can be preset to start before the operator arrives and the machine is warmed up and ready to go. It also works well for breaks and will keep the engine at operating temps burning only 1/8 gallon per hour.
