If you had 2,200 dollars to spend on injectors

Ok, Wife said i could have the tax money for my truck!!! "shes a good wife!" $2,200 to spend!

Im looking at a set of baby swamps with tuning, but im trying to decide what to choose between an Adrenaline HPOP or a DIY D66 turbo kit from Barder Turbo.

My truck specs are:

1996 F-350 CC Dually 7.3 144,000 miles


99 inter cooler

ZF5 Swap 2wd

Tymar intake

3 inch DP to 4 inch straight exhaust

What would you guys do? My HPOP and Turbo are stock as of now. No problems with either.

I dont want to be fighting EGT issues "i already have gauges" but i dont wanna run short of HPO either!

More air or more oil. That is the question i guess!

I think your HPOP has a 15 degree swashplate since itís an OBS. Upgrading to the 17 degree will probably give you the most bang for the buck right now.


As to the injectors, I would recommend Stage 1.5s from Full Force. You can get them with the appropriate tuning at DP-Tuner. You could send your PCM in for a reburn while you are doing the injector swap. Make SURE and get a linear pedal tune as the regular tune is jumpy with a standard transmission. You really donít need multiple tunes since the biggest difference in them is when the auto tranny shifts.

For 2200 go with hybrids, you are right on the door for them and more room to grow with the same amount of oil.

If you have to choose btwn HPOP & D66, do the HPOP and get the smaller "Van" turbine housing (1.0A/R) instead of the D66. The Housing is usually less than $180 shipped and makes a big improvement.

I did Unlimited Diesel 30%, Gearhead tune, Adrenaline HPOP, and the smaller Housing about a year ago. Now it makes 25psi with an ATS intercooler and I'm happy how it runs.

Look at what KC Turbo offers as well.

'97 F250 4x4 XLT CCSB Last of the good ones, 88,000 and counting. Not much done yet, came with gauges, programmer and ATS Intercooler, now has UDP30 AD injectors, Adrenaline HPOP, 1.0A/R Exhaust Housing, GearHead Tunes.
