'2002 F450 7.3L surges

I have a surging problem that Ford has not been able to diagnose much less fix. When we are driving the truck using the throttle, it surges, maybe 50-100 RPM but it does not do this surging issue when we are using the cruise control. The surge is not a lot, just enough to be really irritating especially driving across the desert in the middle of no-where. The throttle control part number is “699-203 53154 13147 China”. We have the”fixed diesel accelerator peddle.’ How do we disconnect the plug? Thank you!

The P/N you posted appears to be a Dorman part.

There were two different “fixed” throttle pedal designs and one “adjustable”. One of the “fixed” type has one wire connector (your P/N) and the other design has two wire connectors (I attached a photo) and it’s P/N is F81Z-9F836-AB

Does your new part look exactly like your old?

If you look at your new Dorman part, can you get an idea of how the fitting unplugs? It should just require “gently” pulling a clip back but it’s probable that you will need to jiggle the connector since it’s likely been there a while.

If your truck is a 2002 then this thread may be in the wrong forum.
