Right now I'm getting 10 in town and 13 on the highway. Diesel is killing me at $3.40 a gallon. I've got cracked exhaust manifolds, so I'm hoping the replacement will help.

You've got a lot going against you. The 8 inches of lift, 37 inch tires, 3 speed tranny and 3200 rpms at 65 all = BAAAAAAAAAD fuel mileage.

Stock 7.3, e40d trans and 3.55 rear gears. I got rid of my silly 6" exhaust stack in the bed and installed a thrush turbo w/side dump exhaust. The thrush gave it a little too much hush.

I know this might sound ridiculous, but I have no reason to lie haha. Driving with the tailgate down creates an air pocket causing drag and giving you less fuel mileage than driving with the tailgate up. I saw this on the show "mythbusters" on the discovery channel. I myself was shocked! Drive with tailgate up!
x's 2 or more---seen it on more than mythbusters. ford did the study before myth--

94 f250 idi turbo sc e4od alum fac rims 149,289 --dana 60 frt with posi--10.25 rear w/posi--shouldnt get stuck!! ats turbo 3" parts on--what a diff from stock turbo!!!!!--- also 96 F250 with 305,000 is fixed!!-- 7.3 rattler-also 85 6.9-needs new engine!! tired!!

I drive a 1989 E-350 7.3 e4od and dana 70 with 4.10, i am only averaging 9.5 mpg. The injector pump looks new it amazes me you guys are getting that much. I had a 86 F-250 that got 18mpg. My Van is a high top ambualce when i bought it i had hoped to atleast get 15mpg. maybe the pump is cranked up to high. it dosen't smoke to bad just a little black smoke when you get into it. I am hauling a lot of tools around but shouldn't be that much lower on the mpgs

I am pretty delighted when I hit 17 mpg. I am an e350 with a flatbed non turbo 210k miles. Empty 8800 (saddle bags are pretty full).
