Injectors

Hi, installing "O" ring kit and copper washers, on #7 cyl when I pulled the injector it was covered with oil. First two weren't. What is the problem here. Doing one injector at a time. Hope the others aren't like this one. Also I don't see any holes in bottom of injectors, how does the fuel get out into the cyl.

Thank you Bill

Are you sure is wasn't fuel? I never pulled a cylinder head on a diesel with all GOOD injectors where one or two weren't wet from fuel. IMO it's due to when the engine is shut down and some fuel is injected but not fired as the engine stops. The holes are very tiny if you look close enough. The washers always come with the drainback kits but they don't need replacing unless you have a reason to pull the injectors.

It's motor oil. Was told when installing "O" ring kit told replace copper washers as they come with the kit. It was # 7 cyl and while cleaning # 8 I see a small hairline crack half way around it. Glad I'm changing the copper seals.
