By "rapid" clicking I meant 20 times or more. Yesterday morning temp was 30, relay stayed on over 10seconds then clicked back on 3 short cycles. Turned over maybe 1-2 revolutions & immediately started.

Almost a year since I updated this thread. The truck is up over 260k miles now, had a great/busy summer & fall. Ended up replacing radiator & starter along the way. Still running truck almost daily with absolutely no fuel or starting issues. Have recently learned of the IDI performance site and am thinking about injectors and the single piece return line setup.

Almost 2 years since last update, still driving truck almost daily. No fuel issues at all, other than my rear tank sending unit has died. New clutch last spring, new batteries shortly after clutch.

Sounds like a typical old wore out Ford. The body will fall apart aroud the running gear, but you can still bounce it off across the pasture, or drive it down the highway, and survive the experience.

Fuel draining back because of air leak. Manual pump.

A check valve installed just after the manual lift pump is simplest fix to keep fuel in system.

That won't help because that's not the direction fuel drains back.
