CDR for 6.9 turbo and tube

I have searched many forums and can not find the rubber part that goes from the CDR to the pan for the ATS turbo on a 1986 6.9, can someone get me the part number for a 6.9 1986.

Here is what I have gathered from the various threads that work fine for the 7.3 and can not find a good picture. Just on one russian site seems to be a straight piece, where mine has a right angle.

Rubber tube from CDR to pan - E8TZ-6A892A $7.35
Grommet from CDR to intake - E3TZ-6A892A $3.08 1805292C1, SEAL, CRANKCASE VENT VALVE, INTERNATIONAL/NAVISTAR,1654/4600,1988-90

CDR (Adapter Assembly) - E3TZ-6A665A $62.57 IH pt# 1805319C1,

here is the russian website with picture of straight tube, mine has a bend.



Here is an option that I found that may work,it is for a 6.5 td truck Do not know the diameters

I have a 1990 ATS turbo and it is completely different. it has a straight hose.

So can someone tell me is the above part number E8TZ-6A892A is a right angle or is different. and if someone does have the ATS turbo part number one.

I have done a temp patch of a oversize hose over with silicone seal for now.

new to my 1990 F350 2wd crew Lariat ATS turbo diesel 5 spd dually 300k barely running.

newer to a 1986 4wd F250 ATS turbo diesel manual 123k parts truck, not a parts truck anymore, runs to good.

3 2kW diesel military surplus generators 120VAC

1 3KW diesel military surplus generator 220VAC

2001 jetta TDI 40mpg.

as a side note, if I understand correctly when this boot breaks it is bypassing the air filter sending unfiltered air into the engine for compression.

which brings another question, even when not broken ie working correctly isn't it taking air from the engine that was not filtered right into the engine for compression too.

Problem is the part you are looking for isn't a Ford part, so those Ford numbers are not going to do you any good. The reason the diagram shows the straight hose below the CDR is that the 6.9 never came from the factory with a turbo, your ATS is aftermarket so the part you are looking for is an ATS part.
Problem is, from what I hear ATS has virtually no support for the IDI turbos anymore so they may not be much help to you.

That all being said I can't see any harm in adapting that piece you found to work, looks like a pretty good idea actually.

Not quite, that blowby from the crankcase that the CDR picks up is air that was filtered the first time around before it was introduced to the combustion chamber.

hello, I have a 1990 7.3 IDI with ATS Turbo also. I am looking for the tube from the valve cover to the CDR. IT is clearly an ATS tube since it has ATS printed on it. Its brittle and falling apart. What grommet tube combination could i use? I dont want to take the tube off until I have a replacement since it is helping a little bit.

no help here, my silicone patch has worked all these years. I suggest you coat the entire tube with silicone making a new layer over the entire tube.

Good timing on this question as I have just gone through this myself this year. Had forgotten about this old thread.


Here's what I did:


1) Purchased a 1" grommet to go in the valve cover: https://www.ebay.com/itm/SET-OF-2-St...72.m2749.l2649


2) Purchased a 1" barbed coupler. Mine is plastic, forgot where I bought it, but found this aluminum one on Amazon later: (You may need 2, see #4 below)




3) Purchased two of these 1" silicone hoses for the 90's: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-3-PLY-90-...72.m2749.l2649


4) Turned a 1" nipple on my lathe: CDR for 6.9 turbo and tube-ats-cdr-hose-nipple.jpg
(If you don't have access to a lathe you should be able to use a second of the 1" barbed couplers listed above.)



5) Cut the hoses to fit the dimensions below with the barbed coupler connecting them:

6: Install 1" grommet in valve cover, install nipple (or second barbed coupler) into grommet. Install new hose assembly between CDR & valve cover nipple. The fit was tight enough to not have to need clamps at this time:

I've had it in for several months now and it's working great! My engine is no longer an oily mess, which it always had been since I've installed it some years ago.
