Exclamation Best brake upgrade on '05 F250?

The brakes on my "new to me" 05' F250 seem marginal at best. The pads all look good (oem I'm assuming), and so do the rotors. I've flushed the fluid and put in synthetic DOT4 fluid....that really didn't help much. I really notice when I'm towing something heavy and I'm going not going fast enough for the oem brake controller to give full power to the trailer brakes....unless I reach down and manually activate the brakes, the truck doesn't want to stop all that great.

What's the best way to upgrade the stopping power on these trucks? Will something simple like aftermarket pads help at all?

Thanks for the info!
