'2017 6.7L oil filter

Hi,

Is the Motorcraft oil filter (FL-2051S) the oil filter you use? It's the one the local parts store sells.

Oh, that isn't what your first post said.

I would only use OEM parts. That is all I have ever used.
Doesn't give Ford a reason to void a warranty.

FWIW, years ago Mobil 1 filters outperformed Motorcraft. That being said - lincster has a valid point.

Warranty considerations aside, Mobil 1 and Fram Ultra have always gotten good reviews. Many say they are the best...but everyone has different opinions.

I am going to stick with the Mobil one filter and go with the Valvoline Extreme 5-40 oil that meets the new Ford standard. It is about $57.00 for a case of three shipped using Amazon prime. Great price.

I would not consider anything but Motorcraft air and fuel filters. From what I have read over the years, OEM is really the safest and best bet for these.

Cheers

I always buy OEM filters no matter what vehicle it is and for diesels, I used to use Mobil One for Diesel, but last few years Rotella T-6 in my Ram, GMC Denali, and now my 17 PSD.

Just got my oil and it says "Now meets CK-4 specs" on can? That is spec Ford does not like, it is on approved list and going in my truck.

In addition to being on Fords list, this is what valvoline sent me;

thank you for contacting Valvoline Product Support

Yes, our Premium Blue Extreme 5w-40 will meet the Ford WSS-M2C171-F1. Though this information has not made its way to the product information sheet yet, it should be added on the next update. https://www.fcsdchemicalsandlubrican...product=Diesel Motor Oils Meeting Ford WSS-M2C171-F1&category=Motor Oil is an official Ford website that has a listing of approved fluids. From the URL, you will see a section that says "To download a PDF of all approved Diesel Motor Oils Meeting WSS-M2C171-F1, click here". From there, on the first page around 3/4 of the way down you will find the Premium Blue Extreme listed.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us via phone at 800 TEAM VAL or by email at [email protected] for assistance.

Thank you and have a great day.

I just saw a Rotella branded filter. Funny thing was it was a few dollars more than the Motorcraft.
