Re: Bedford 220 engine
Bedford was G.M.'s truck operation in Britian, but now they sell Isuzu's there. As I recall, the 220 was a popular and respected engine. 4 cyl., about 65 h.p., maybe 160 ft. lbs.. The problem is that they were never exported to the U.S. (though it seems that they went everywhere else). I think there are places in England that can supply parts. Maybe do a search on Bedford or Bedford diesel?

Re: Bedford 220 engine
i tried doing a search and all I could find was some boat places that had books for them. On ebay there were some books and any parts were pretty much in England. I was just trying to get rpm ranges and such. I might try emailing one of the places in england see if they can tell me more. Thanks

Re: Bedford 220 engine
Detroit Diesel had these in their line up 30+ years ago. Not very popular in the west coast however. The few I worked on or that we had in the shop took forever to get the CORRECT parts. Best idea for you at this point is repower it. Get an engine avail. today that has a recent track record. Stay away from free or cheap items. Sometimes they can get fun to play with however. It is said if you sit by the river and watch the water flow by long enough, your enemies will pass by. This I believe to be true. It is also possible to watch your loved ones pass by as well.

I did a google search on Bedford 220, and the very first thing that came up was the online Bedford 220 operators manual, so here is the link.
