Remote start 01 f250 7.3

I just had a Viper model # 5305v Alarm and remote starter installed on my o1 f250 7.3 but it will not start it when the engine is completely cold the shop that installed it say I need another device because it is cold here it will start if engine is warm it will cost another $60 for this device they explained that it send an electrical pulse to the glow plugs I live in Northern California Sacramento area sometimes it does get in to the low 30's does anyone know if I really need what they are trying to sell me

Your stereo shop can program your alarm to wait to start (usually 15-30 seconds). You should not need to purchase another device to operate the glow plugs.
