Just Ordered 2010 Harley F-350 Good Deal?

OK I just ordered a 2010 Harley Davidson Edition F250 short bed SRW and below are the options and what not.

MODELS:
-2010 F-350 Harley Davidson 6.5' bed $57,740
PACKAGES:
-Heavy-Service Front Suspension Package $125
EXTERIOR:
-Traction Control $130
-Electronic Shift on the Fly 4x4 $185
-Dual Alternators $380
-Roof Clearance Lights $55
INTERIOR:
-Uplifter Switches $125
ACCESSORIES
-Cable Lock $120

Destination Charge $975

Total Net Price $59,835

I'm buying the truck through the Commercial Accounts Manager at Watson Quality Ford in Jackson Mississippi. Here is the price he is giving me. What he's calling invoice (I don't know if this number he is giving me here is real) minus 500 minus the avaliable rebates at the time of delivery.

Said Invoice $54,668
money he is giving me off -$500
Current rebates -$3500
DOC FEE? $189
Security etching? $199
inspection $5
Title fee $5

total Selling price $51066

So is he shooting me straight here? whats up with the etching and doc fees? How can I tell if thats the real invoice or not? And would it be better if i go with the (X-Plan) Pricing?

Thanks for any and all help and info on this!

Also this will be my first Diesel, anything I need to know?

Is it the 6.4 or the 6.7? The 6.7 is the new motor for the 2011 model year which is a complete redesign.

Its going to be the 6.4 I didn't want to chance the new 6.7! We will have to give it a few years and see how it does first.

Not sure about your questions about the fees...I've still yet to buy a brand new truck HAHA.

But as far as being your first diesel, CONGRATS! You'll never be able to go back to a gasser now...hope your okay with that. HAHA. Basically just keep up with your maintenance and upkeep. Oil Changes, fluids, etc. Also, intake, tuner, exhaust to get good performance and MPGs. Guages to keep yourself in the safe stage so you don't mess up your motor. Best of luck and congrats on the new truck!

Thanks! I'm mainly getting it to pull my summer time toy! I'm sure it will have no problems, but like you said I'm already thinking about a Spartan tuner, and DPF delete! Never have been able to leave anything alone for long! lol

etching is a dealer mark up. If you don't want it, tell them you are not paying for it, nor do you want to receive it.

They have to pay document fees, so they usually try to pawn them off on the buyer. You might be able to get them to foot the doc fees. And I presume the inspection is washing the truck and removing the plastic seat covers? Again you might be able to get to drop them. It's all about negotiating, there's no law saying you have to pay these.

What is the 500 rebate for?

X plan is 0.4% under invoice, and 75 doc fee. + Tax and title.

the 500 bucks, is just the deal he's giving me for buying from him instead of going somewhere else. I took him a quote from another dealer who was going to give the truck at Invoice minus whatever rebates. So this guy said he give an even better deal! Thus the 500 under invoice

My dealer has given me an expected delivery date for January 25th 2010! I'm getting rather anxious, especially since I'm have to drive and ole worn out single cab 1990 F-150! But on the bright side, maybe I'll appreciate the new truck a little long than I would have if I had not subjected myself this 8-week wait! lol

I already have aftermarket wheels and 35" Toyo tires here at my shop that I will be installing the day of delivery! So does anyone know someone who might want the OEM Harley edition 20" and 275/65/20 All terrain tires?

Also what would be a fair price for the set? Or what would be the average price people have sold them for? They will be brand new tires having no more than 20-30 miles on them depending on the odometer reading when it roles of the back of the Semi?

Thanks in advance for any and all info!

Rick D.

My '06 had sat on the lot for a while (still brand new), sticker was $54,795

Dealer offered to sell for $44,000.

I traded in an old Dodge 2500 two wheel drive and managed to get $14,000 for it, had about 70,000 miles on it, good shape. I closed the deal on the 31st of the month, don't remember which one, my sales man called me the next day and told me a $5,000 rebate came out on the truck that day. I went back and re-did the paperwork, gave them a grand and put the other 4 grand on the truck.
