Hi gearhead,
I own a 2012, F-250, King Ranch (build 4/2012). This week, the engine light came on. AutoZone displayed the following:
P2479 Exhaust Gas Temp. out of range
P2031 Exhaust Gas Temp. Sensor Circuit Bank 1, Sensor 2 &
P2033 Exhaust Gas Temp. " " " 1, Sensor 1
Also, on the Ford site it states that my truck has a field service action:
FSA Title: EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR EXTENDED COVERAGE
Field Service Action Number: 15M02
I brought it into Ford & asked if they would replace the Exhause Gas Temp. Sensor as part of the recall/field svc. action.
They stated that they would check it for $70 and then let me know what needs to happen. The issue that I have is that the check engine light has come on three times in the past six months, they replaced the oil & fuel filter (2 of the 3 times) and reset the engine light.
Do you recommend I pay $70 to check the codes or should they replace the EGTS since it is a FSA?
Thanks,
John In Florida
