ByronF350 I would say best time to do it is when you have time. It's a pretty easy task to complete. If a EGR cooler goes it's puke coolant out the degas bottle much like a blown head gasket. Also if coolant gets into your intake it can cause the heads to blow because water Doesn't compress.

EGR DELETE - How and when does one know the proper time to complete this task?

I have several 6.0 Diesels, but everyone is talking about the EGR delete situation. How and when should this be completed? What are the symptoms to watch out for and what other information should be reviewed prior, during, and post task? Sorry for all the questions and I am sure there is another thread somewhere that will answer all of these, but I need to know so I may maintain my trucks accordingly with the least amount of failure. Thank you.
