RT Jim - I think Justin had a family issue that forced him to retire. Call DP-tuner directly. Jody (the owner and programmer) is readily available to help with technical questions. He can even make custom tweaks after you get the tuner to deal with specific problems. The F5 is the most economical, but the F6 will allow you to flash the chip yourself if you decide to add tunes or if you and Jody are making changes and he e-mails you revisions.

powderhound12 Justin,
I have a 2002 Ford F250, the 7.3L engine is still stock. The 4R100 transmission has had the stock torque converter replaced with the Precision Industries Stallion torque converter. Since the torque converter swap, the Over Driver Off light on the gear shift has started flashing intermittently. The transmission code that is thrown indicates that the torque converter is slipping. Since this is an intermittent issue, I donít think there is a problem with the torque converter
I have been reading on several of the Diesel Forums that the DP-Tuner is capable of adjusting the transmission line pressures to adjust for upgraded torque converters.
Is this accurate? If so, which DP-Tuner would you recommend?
Thanks
Jim

'03Mach1 Great that is a great option indeed.

69mach1377 Yes, and in the truck if you get the adapter.

'03Mach1 I have a question about the hydra chip. Can tunes be loaded on the chip before it is installed in the truck?

Barchetta I like my Hydra and I like the price too. Call any one of many tuners for it and if they arent willing to have a conversation with you about your needs then just call another. You are never stuck with one.

DENNY Agree with above post!! Backing is hard on the auto tranny (heat). 4x4 low when backing. I would also add the 6.0 trans cooler and trans temp gauge, simple bolt in project.

[email protected] 2000 7.3 Excursion 153,000 original miles stock tires turbo ect. I’ve had a Superchips program in tow haul for 12 yrs never towed anything over 3,000. Until this last weekend experienced turbo surge. Hauling a newer 8,400lb travel trailer from Montana to NW Washington. On arrival home in my drive way Trans fluid ran from my bell housing as I was backing it in to place. Now I’m looking to build this truck to make cross country trips once or twice a year with this travel trailer with decent fuel economy and good towing capability. Any good ideas. Hydra? Turbo? Trans?

Xp1 trans

How is your XP1 trans????

blue99stroker I’ve heard that story quite a few times. It’s always the trucks fault.

In some cases the truck does have issues. Especially low icp or trans issues

But if one particular person at DP handles the email good luck.
Jody or Justin offer great service. It’s the extra member of the team who doesn’t know how to tune or know these trucks that muddies the water.

I think that particular person has been told to stay out of things now....Because customer service has improved.

My experience was the opposite. I received no guidance via email. When I'd later sought help in these forums about my truck bucking wildly under light throttle in gears 1 through 3 with DP's economy tuning, a company rep created a straw-man fallacy by posting that I lacked the necessary high-performance mods.

Sorry to hear that, did you give them a chance to remedy?
