My company has several stores and a fleet business. We do not have direct access to any of the data. So, unless the database was retained and is somehow accessible the records you seek are unavailable. Again, it comes down to their business practices.

|LMJD||Artic Driver is correct, Fremont has Wyoming sewed up as far as dealerships. They have one in almost every decent sized town. I'm not a big fan.|

Fremont Ford has several dealerships throughout the State with the same owners that chose to close the one in Rawlins. I have been promised by three of those dealerships they would get back to me and not one of the three has even called to let me know they had no luck.

I think your worries far exceed the value of the receipt. A clutch lifespan is only as good as the person who pushes the pedal. That would not be a self-adjusting clutch cover so the feel of the clutch is a good indicator of its condition.
The other issue is that the clutch was replaced long enough ago that the above factors are very much in play. I think a receipt is invaluable for a clutch replaced 6 months and 6,000 miles prior but 4 years and 50,000 miles prior means that is an old clutch and might need replacement again soon if it feels like it has little travel between point of initial engagement and when the effort drops due to pressure plate end of travel.

I purchased the truck from an old-timer who bought it new up in WY. He is the kind of guy who I take at their word when they tell me they did sonething like had a new clutch installed so when he didn’t pony up a receipt I was not concerned.
But now I am considering selling the truck and I don’t think a new owner is going to believe a 3rd person account of work having been performed without documentation.
So being the sort that likes to get his ducks in a row, I thought I would just stop by the dealer in Rawlins my next time fishing that area. Lo & behold, that particular dealership is no longer in business although it was pointed out to me here in this very thread the same auto group owns several throughout the Great State of Wyoming.
I just looked and I did describe these details in the OP.

|ford_doctor||I tend to agree. A cash clutch job is not usually something that goes wrong due to parts or workmanship... especially YEARS after the fact considering this would be a wear item. I always leave an open minded approach though because you never know. I am also perplexed that a "new" owner who did not pay for the original repair is working so hard to warranty something? Am I getting this wrong? Perhaps some additional specific details are in order.|
