My PS is one sick pup. I have been reading a lot of the posts with trucks that are having the same problems as mine but there never seems to be a definite answer as to what fixed the problem. okay here are the symptoms that I am experiencing....

Hard Start: In the mornings, it will start, die, then restart with a nasty "loping" (basically feels like only half my motor is operating)

Once operating temp is reached, it seems to run smoother but once driven there is horrible power loss. It feels like I am driving into hurricane force winds or towing something ridiculously heavy. It has even died at times while driving.

To date, and have replaced my glow plugs, my CPS with the new version (-B), and replaced my UVC harnesses (both sides). I am now leaning towards the IPR or IPC. With the choking and sputtering I am also thinking about the EBPV and associated sensor. I do not have a check engine light so I am assuming that there are no codes to be pulled. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

You age going to have to verify sufficient fuel pressure , & hook up a mechanical guage or a scanner to verify the high pressure oil system cold & warm...Read... This....

Great information, but it just seems to be a little in depth. Not that I am lazy or anything, I am just a little unsure and I dont want to bite off more than I can chew.

Yes but with conflicting schedules who knows when we would be able to do it. I am trying to get this thing back on the road ASAP. It's my daily driver.

In the mean time, is there anything else you recommend looking at outside of what I have already done?

Change the oil , Maybe a 5 w ,Replace the fuel filter if you haven't already. Unplug the EBPV or wire it open, Empty the fuel bowl & fill it with sea foam, & use Stanadine fuel additive in the tank , about all I can think of....

On the bottom of the valve under the turbo, mine has a pie shaped (or so ) lever, connected to the actuator, looking down from the top ,full open is clockwise. (PO) wired mine open, now I believe it is rusted in place open...Have someone start the motor when its warm & watch the lever move, It may be just fine ,or stuck closed.... Look here...

Okay...after many firm hits to the head and a few "adult" beverages I traced down all the lines and connections to my HPOP. On the intake side I found a loose connection which is what I am hoping was causing my pump to be below the level of oil recommended. So I tightned that fitting, topped off my HPOP, and cleaned the fuel bowl with some SeaFoam and she started STROKIN the way it always had in the past. I am going to keel an eye on that line and possibly later down the road replace it, but for right now it seems fine.

Thanks to Rick and all the other professionals on here that help keep those ridiculous parts and labor costs down.

First post here... hello everyone. Wow, I am having the same issues as Beefle so perfect timing for such great responses. Hard start cold start only in the morning. Loping before a smooth idle. Fresh oil, new fuel filter, recently drained and cleaned reservoir/bowl. I think I'm about to follow down the same path here, but I've got a couple newb questions for these acronyms used. Can you guys please clarify what HPOP, IPR, IPC, and UVC harness? Sorry to ask you to spell it out, but the only abbreviations I know in the post is the CPS and EBPV.

Thanks in advance.
