hey guys...im usually down in the 94-97 forums but my uncles friend brough over his 01 econoline. it has a really bad miss when you get on it and just pours out white smoke. idles just fine though. seems to get worse the more it warms up. before he brought it to me he had replaced the fuel pump. theres no CEL on, im guessing its not having any trouble getting fuel since its pouring it right out the tailpipe anyway. sounds to me like an injector problem or maybe an oil pressure problem but wanted to get some opinions from the rest of you. really not looking forward to working on a van. little more crowded than what im used to. thanks for any help.

forgot to mention he also replaced the fuel filter, also just finished checking the plugs that go into the UVC harnesses...no burnt pins.

Was he having the problems before he changed the filter and pump?
Mabye the injector harness has come partially unplugged (or chafed) under the vavle cover? I know this isn't a symptom of the cps, but has the cps ever been changed?

he changed the fuel pump and filter after the symptoms started. not sure about the cps but im sure it hasnt been changed. im yet to pull the vc's off but will probably do it tonight. thanks
