Hello, we have a 2001 Excursion that is having problems with the right rear passenger window. When we got it, the drivers control switch and the passenger switch would not operate the window. I recently bought a new switch, and discovered that the wire harness was not connected.

After connecting the wires, I discovered that the switch operates the window down, but not up (thus the unplugging of the wire harness).

The drivers switch still will not operate the window at all........

Does anyone know what the problem might be, or how I can isolate ? I am at a loss as to why the drivers switch does not work at all, and the passenger switch only one direction.

Thanks !!

P.S. I tried with the new switch, with the same results.....

I had issues with my right rear window not rolling down and it ended up being one if the wires from the main switch in the door harness between the door and body. Not wanting to destroy that to fix one wire, I ran a new one from the switch itself through into the cab by the kick panel and it worked. Just tapped back into it there so I didn't have to replace the while wire. You can make a temporary jumper and tap at the wire at the driver switch and run it across the cab to the switch in the door with issues to diagnose if its the connection in between that is bad. Mine was bad in the bend of the driver door.

I had a similar issue with a 2004 Excursion that we have. If I remember right, our issue was that the switch on the right rear door was not getting power. So, I pulled power from the drivers switch, ran it across the floor and back to and up into the RR door and tapped it back in. Problem solved.
