I would assume that the Rear Hatch is Supposed to Lock,
and when the handle is lifted, it will not open the hatch?

Mine does, don't matter if the doors or locked or not.

Surely this is not normal?

Just tested to to ensure my valuables are safe, truck parked in the open, with an Expensive TrueTrac and Banks Aluminum cover setting just inside the rear doors.

My only saving grace, is the shop building is located in an open field 500 feet off a Rural Road 10 miles from any town of any size.

But, I am still nervous as a cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

Finally found the proper page in the manual, and yes, it is supposed to Lock.

Not at all familiar with the locks on this truck, just bought it a few months ago.

What type problem occurs to keep it from working?

Pull your cover off and look at linkage. With it being an ex fire depart vehicle, it probably seldom got locked up so things were seldom moving back and forth. It was probably in the firehouse all of the time. Things might just be sticky in there.

I know the little plastic clips that hold the linkages together will break over time.
