The 8x170 hubs seem common so I am wondering if newer ('05+) OEM wheels will bolt up and run right. Is there an offset issue?

I would like to run a 17" wheel and tire...

There is a significant difference in backspacing, the newer wheels have more, and I believe they will rub on your springs if installed on a leaf spring front end.

Somehow I've seen people shoehon the newer whells on the older trucks and it looks plain goofy. They set too far into the fenderwells and remind me of one of those Southern Pacific railroad trucks.

I'd pass on them and save your money for a set of decent aftermarket wheels.
