Theyy do have a cps along with another sensor from what I've seen here that control the cam senseing. Its been very rare that one or both of these go bad.

I'd be more likly to suspect an HPOP problem as its the high-pressure oil that fires the injectors.

I'd drive it to the dealer to see if they can pull codes.

I just had the exact same issue with my 05... drove it 2500 miles from AZ.. got home and turned truck off.. 5 min later.. cranked but no start. a couple hours later i checked and same thing. left it over night and it started. Prior to this i have had no problem with a no start. Took it to dealer, no codes and they recommended i not take the fuel tank below 1/4. Kicker, they played around with the various sensors and wiring and tripped a code for back pressure sensor, then charged me 100 bucks for warrenty deductable..(truck has 37K on it) Hasn't happened again, but i haven;t had the time to drive back to AZ to duplicate the conditions it happened under. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

This is the problem I had. Truck would start hard or not start at all hot. A couple hours later, would start just fine. It ended up being the fitting for the high pressure oil line that comes out of the high pressure oil pump that operates your fuel injectors(photo's 5 & 6 in the link). I was told that the computer needs to see 500psi before the injectors will fire. Anything less, and you will just crank, but get no fuel. Also be aware, that this oil leak is internal to the engine, so you will not SEE a leak, nor a decrease in oil level. The oil leaks back to the oil pan.

Be aware, that this is just the first sign. When the leak gets worse, a more complete failure will cause a complete shutdown while operating the vehicle, requiring a tow.

This is also a fairly common problem of late. It took the dealer a few days to repair including waiting for parts.
