'06 vs '03 powerstroke question?

I presently own an '06 F250 extended cab long box 4x4 with the 6.0 powerstroke.
I have a 33' Cris-craft that weighs in at 12,000 lbs give or take + the weight of the trailer... whatever that may be, that I have to haul from southern Ontario to Vancouver Island so I'm looking at an '03 F350 crew cab 4x4 long box dually also 6.0 diesel.
(both trucks are automatic and close to 400,000kms)
Would going with the '03 be a + or a - for me?
Thanks in advance for any input.

For what i know of the 6.0 is the 03 and 04 where not the best. They started get better in 05 so IMO i would not got near it.

I think you should be fine with your truck

I just did quebec to Vancouver island a month ago so i can help with info anyhow send me a PM

If you have the time, the place and good mechanics background here's what i would do.

IF you really like the the CC of the 03 and IF the 03 is in really good shape. I would take the 06 engine, front suspension with axel and installing it on the 03 with everything else you like off the 06.
