I am really confused. I bought my 02 7.3 with 100,000 and it seems to run good. I ordered tunes from DP tuner and got 60 tow and 120 race. even with my origional stock program in I can hit over 20lbs of boost but I do have a different wastegate from dieselsite. I run my DTC with my handheld in the original stock programming that came with the truck and still get the KAM error. I think this explains why my shifting is a bit to firm when I load my DP tuner ontop of this even though DP tuner should overwrite the soposse stock program thats on the truck. Iam thinking of asking the dealer to flash and new version of the stock program on it to clear out whatever crap is in the PCM? what should I do? Maybe dealer could clear whatever crap is on it and put stock file on the PCM and I wouldnt get the KAM error. How much does the dealer typically charge to reflash?> then I could procede with a chip once I know it doesnt show up. Can I put just any PCM on the truck and not have any isses? I know I would need new chip written for it, but just curious if I can use any PCM from 99-02 7.3 and it would run good, then just get a new chip burned. I heard a couple PCM codes run better than others with chips. Thanks everyone

P0603 is common and normal with a chip.

If that truck ever had a "programmer" loaded in it, a factory reflash may fix the odd trans behavior. I've seen it several times, even though they are supposed to "return to stock", some kind of remnant is left that messes with things and it always seems to be the trans.

If you need to swap PCMs, it needs to be the same DPC-### part number as the one you have now.

If the only trans complain is that the shifting is too firm, it could be related to how your "Suncoast Xtreme Rebuild" kit is installed. You would need to talk to Jody (assuming you got the chip from him) and see what the trans shift pressures are setup like. If he used programs for a stock valve body and yours is modified, that could be the problem.
