I've ordered my truck...of course my only gear option is 3.73. Due to my desire to go with 37" tires, I believe a gear change to 4.30's would restore the effective gear ratio back to nearly 3.7 or so. I'm thinking this would remove some stress and some downshifts from the tranny when I'm towing, while easing my 28' toyhauler up some of the canyons here in Utah. Has anyone done this? What do you guys think?

Thanks for your opinions.

While I don't have any real-world experience with that setup yet, it is the same conclusion that I had come to. 4.30's with 37x13.50's are what I plan to run as soon as the lifts mature and I can find some way of speedo correction that works on an '08.

I understand Tough Country makes a good lift for the 08'. I'm also reviewing all the options before my truck is delivered.

Let me know what you find out.

Thanks,

Brad
