hi fellas, i found your forum here and have been searching around for an answer to my question with no luck.

i recently purchased a dana 60 front axle from a local yard for my IH scout project.

the yard worker said it came out of a f450/550 he wasnt sure, and i ran the BOM on the diff tag and it said it came off a 95.

it is a dually ten lug set up, but it doesnt look like any of the other dually "adapters/hubs" i have ever seen before.

the dually adapter/ 10 lug adapter looks like it bolts on to the bearing hub assembly, and is assembled as follows; Rotor behind hub flange, through holes in both the rotor and hub flange, and then the adapter with threaded holes, all held together with 8 bolts from behind the rotor.

the 8 holes in the hub flange and rotor are the standard 8 on 6.5 pattern.

where i am lost here is that all of the other dually hubs i have seen have threaded holes in the hub flange to bolt the rotor to. and look like only two pieces bolted together(rotor, hub) as opposed to the apparent 3 pieces i have (rotor, hub, 10 lug dually adapter) there is also a very evident seam at the outer face of the hub flange between it and the "adapter" which leads me to believe that it is removable.

my question is this, is the dually adapter removable on this axle? if so how the heck do i get it off of the bearing hub?

Yes it is removable. That is an odd duck you have and worth some $$. I believe Quigly made those hubs to make the F superdutys 4wd. Ford only made them 2wd. Post some picks. Quigly conversions may give you some info too

that makes sense, the adapters look like a nice machined tube with two flanges on them... not like anything you would expect to see come from the factory.

ill try to get some pictures of them tomorrow and post them up

any ideas on how to get the bloody things off the bearing hub?

To the right guy those hubs are pure gold. The only rare part needed to build a F450 4x4. For you just put your D50 hubs on there with 95 to 97 rotors and you are good to go. I'll bet the ratio in the D60 is either 4.88 or 5.13 huh? You can probably horsetrade you a set of gears too.

yep 5.13 gears, which was a bit of a surprise because the diff tag said 4.10.

i still need to find some dana 50 hubs, rotors, and you guessed it 5.13 gears. know anyone who wants these things? would probably be willing to trade straight across for a set of hubs and rotors

you got some nice pieces there that i could use. If your willing to leave them assembled onto the rotors I have s.w. dana 60 outers on mine and want the ten lug type instead. maybe we could work something out?

ps Are you sure that that is a Dana 60 and NOT a Dana 70>>>>>>

The set set looks bigger than a 60...
I have been into these sets ups for a while. Just hard to find one complete.
