I think he meant 10mm or 13 mm.

99 trucks built before 3-15-99 (this includes some "99.5's") have the 10mm flange. They also have a different brake rotor than the post 3-15-99 build trucks.

You know I'm not sure if that's correct. Maybe the early builds have the thicker flange and the later's thinner. It was done to solve a rotor warping issue and the thicker flange mates up with the thinner rotor and vice-versa.

But in any case you can use the build date on the door sticker or your build sheet (window sticker) if you have that) to find out what date your truck was built. The counter guy should be able to tell you which hub/bearing assy goes on your truck with the build date.

If you have a pre 3-15-99 truck, then you can either use the early hub/bearing assy with your rotor, or you can change both the hub/bearing assy AND rotor to the later style (which is generally more available.) But whatever you do, don't try to mix a late hub/bearing with an early rotor. You'll get interference with the caliper bracket.

Hope that helps.

The earlier ones had the 10mm hubs.I think the date was 3-21-1999 that they changed them to the thicker ones. Its probably a lot cheaper to buy the newer one and the rotor than it is to buy the older one.My truck has the older style and I bought one from the dealer for $500 but, I needed it right away[I didn't know about using the newer one or I would of made the switch then].A week later I found one brand new oem 10mm hub on Ebay.I lucked out and got it for $67 shipped. It made me feel a little bit better paying a total of $567 for 2 instead of $500 for 1.Now I have a spare until I need it.

You're right on the 3-22 date. 3-15 must have been one of the other chassis changes they made in March 99. If I'd have looked at my parts list I would have seen that.

Front bearing/hub assembly, SRW, Non ABS
F81Z-1104-EC Before 3-22-99
BCA/National 515076
F81Z-1104-ED After 3-22-99
BCA/National 515021

Front Rotor 4x4:
F81Z-1125-BA Before 3-22-99
F81Z-1125-DA After 3-22-99

I found a way to check the flang to make sure. You use a 10mm or 13mm open wrench and see witch one fits. In my case it was the 10mm. Thank you for all the help.

Sounds like you are pre 3/22/99 like me. I am about to replace both hubs. It will cost me about $250 less for hubs, rotors, and pads to do the conversion than to just replace both of the pre 3/22 hubs.

I checked the sticker on the inside of the driver door and all it says is 3/99. Is there a web site to put the VIN number in and find out the exact build date???

The new style hub bearings are MUCH cheaper. You can use the old style rotor meant for the 10mm flange by shimming out the caliper mount with a 3mm washer on each bolt. then when it comes time to replace rotors, get the new style rotors and remove the shims... conversion complete! I've had the shims in mine for 6 monthe now just waiting for it to need rotors.
