I'm getting no boost until 2200 rpm but about 18lb between 2200 and 3200 rpm, so I was wondering what normal boost would be from 1500 to 2200 and at what rpm should I start to see the gauge move at all? thanks for any input. ~Aaron

What causes you to build boost is load on the engine, not RPMS, I can build 15-17 lbs of boost at 1500 rpms or 0 depending on the load placed on the engine.

It's gonna be hard to answer your question without knowing under what coniditions you're driving.

Here's a question, what is YOUR peak boost? We can start there.

peak boost is about 18 lbs. @ WOT unloaded, when it shifts at that pressure I get a little squawk (stall I think) from my turbo. basically I have been watching my boost accelerating from stop lights and getting on the freeway. I hope that helps? thanks, ~Aaron

Someone with more experience on the EDGE EVO can chime in, but I think you should be making more peak boost, especially on the higher programs, like 22-24 at least.

It sounds like you probably have a boost leak, indicated by boost being slow to respond and lower than normal peak boost.

What I would do if I were you is, take all the IC boots off and clean and inspect them for cracks. Reinstall them nice and clean and tight.
The most common problem causers are the crappy orange ones under the Y-pipe, which http://dieselpowerproducts and http://dieselsite.com carry replacements for.

You might also want to consider the CCV mod at this time as well.

Doing this should net you some more boost, lower egt's, and better accleration/power.

this weekend I'll be pressurizing my inter-cooler and turbo sys. to 20# and check for leaks I was just wondering what the normal time for boost to kick in unloaded under heavy accelerating? ~Aaron

Heavy acceleration from a stop? Should be almost immediate.

When I'm crusing I can get on it and the boost moves some, but when it downshifts, it slams the needle pretty quick.

How does one check for leaks. In a nut shell. How do you go about pressurizing the system? Other than blead off, how do you verify leaks? Soapy water?

I found my boost problems,
auto meter gauge reading 5 lbs. off so I'll be sending it back along with the tranny temp gauge that fogs up! never would have thought it would be the gauge. ~Aaron
