So i have 1800 miles on my f250. i was driving down the road and all of a sudden at 55mph i have no freaking power, it shudders for a moment and power again, so i make a complete stop and hit the gas, truck wont go over 20mph and if i floor it then it does completely nothing! then the check engine light comes on. I now call the dealer and they say its prolly a bad EGT sensor. So now after the tow truck picks up the truck in a parking lot i call the dealership and they say that the EGT sensors are good but the CPU is throwing all kinds of EGT codes. ***!

I take it that you have a 6.4 diesel. Sorry for your problem. I have a 2008 6.8 V-10 with 33K perfect, no problem, miles. Runs like a rabbit and my oil changes cost $19.95. I hope your dealer doesn't have to take off the cab to fix your problem and I hope your fix is an easy one.

well, from my research off this website ive founda few people with similar problems and it seems that 1 of two things has caused this issue: 1. bad injectors either # 5 6 or 2. which is bad egt sensor #3-1...Ive had my truck for 2 weeks and i must say that if they cant tell me with 100% confidence that the issue will be resolved i will be asking for a new truck. My duramax that i traded in was in the shop for about a total of 30 days due to something very similar. They ended up replacing every computer and wiring harness in the entire truck, they never found the issue exactly but after all that it was fixed..:icon_rolleyes:

Beware the phrase "It's within specs." That means they don't know what it is, can't fix it and you are stuck with it. Don't ask me how I know...

Bad EGR sensor

Turns out that the EGR sensor is bad. The dealer will have my truck for 2 weeks due to the part is not available until next monday. Turns out that certian VIN #s all have this bad part and they are sending out recalls for it. Also, there will be recalls for certain VIN numbers that have bad cylinders. The manufactuer at a certain time that was making their cylinders was putting out a bad product. After i made a big stink about it they put me in another F250 for the mean time.

I bought my 08 F250 6.4 PSD used (28k miles). I have owned it for a total of 21 days. Out of those 21 days, it has been at the dealership for 8 days for warranty repairs.

I love the styling of the new Super Duty, thats why I traded in a perfectly good Dodge CTD truck. What a freakin mistake.

I wish I would of went with the V10 Gasser version of the Super Duty like poster above did.

Never felt more disheartened over a vehicle purchase in my life.

what all are they replacing/repairing on your truck sameolthing?
i really love my truck and completely hoping i wont have anymore issues. it almost seems that they tried to make these trucks way to eco friendly. its a freaking work diesel truck for crying out loud. i wouldnt be suprised though if all the other makers start the same thing though.

I've got the V-10 in my '09 and am very pleased with it. I got 185K out of my '99 V-10 with very few problems, way more reliability than I had anticipated the day I brought it home.

I could have gotten a better deal on a diesel but my job requirements made me stay with the V-10. I think it's a pretty hard motor to beat if you aren't pulling stuff all the time.

Replacing radiator (backorder part), windshield washers quit working, computer/regen probs.

Wish Ford would take this 6.4 back and give me a voucher for a V-10 model.

The manufacturers really push the diesels, there may be a number of reasons for that including profitability, warranty claims, emissions, etc. I wish Ford would push the V-10 more, once you get past the 'horrible gas mileage' image you realize what a good engine it really is. To be honest, the mileage is about the same as the V-8 you have to hammer all the time to get equivalent performance.

Oh, well. Until Ford puts me in charge of Marketing...
