I have been doing some research online already but I am looking for an older truck to use in the summer to tow a boat 2 miles from storage to the lake. I found one that I am going to try and see this weekend but wanted to get a little more info of what I need to look for and be careful of.

It is a single cab, manual, 4x4. the guy is not the original owner and thinks the mileage is around 200k, does not no for sure and from what i have seen these roll over at 99,999. He says it burns some oil and other then that was his daily driver till he got a bigger truck.

Thanks for any help

Things to look for would be how well does it start when cold, How long do the glow plugs stay on for. Make sure the coolant has no oil in it. Make sure the oil has nothing strange it such as diesel fuel or coolant.

yea justins right just check for flaws or things that have been rigged to get by, Take er for a drive watch the gauges, those old internationals always do go through a little oil u just have to run heavy oil like 20-50 or strait 50w and it should be fine as for towing a boat a couple miles every other weekend in the summer or something like that the truck should do a fine job.
