Pull the hose at the fuel filter coming from the lift pump (aka fuel pump on a gasser) crank it over and see if you have any fuel coming out.

Ether is not the answer here it is why is it not starting or why did it die. Did it act like it ran out of fuel? If the lift pump produces fuel, move down the line of fuel supply until you find out why it is not making it to the injectors or injector pump. The list is long of what it could be but you have to eliminate one thing at a time. You don't know for sure if you are putting enough ether into the system to get it started and frankly it really is not going to help much in the diagnosis of the over all problem. What about power to the injection pump, slipped timing on the injection pump, clogged fuel filter, air, ice or water in the system. You may also have to give more detailed info on what happened. There are many smarter people on this website than me that have helped me time and again but you have got to be thorogh and detailed if possible.

You need to diagnose this rather than assume. A simple thing to check is fuel from your lift pump.

Check for power to the fuel shut off on the IP? When was the fuel filter last replaced?

Crack an injector line while turning it over to check to see if the FSS is allowing fuel to travel through the injector pump. Even if your test light shows power coming to the wire, the FSS still might not be opening.

Water in the fuel filter should have illuminated the WIF light (Water in fuel) on the dash. This is of course if the dash light is still operating or the fuel filter base sensor is plugged in. Go to the page and find where the sensor is......

If you had enough water to stall the engine you had better investigate further or drain the filter daily, tanks possibly need addressing too.

Where do you get your fuel so others can avoid that place.
