hi guys, i got a 1990 f250 7.3 ats turbo when i push it up hill it misses and sounds like it,s trying to backfire or pop out through the intake and everytime it pops a little puff of black smoke come out the tail pipe.

could be injectors..or air in the lines

Could be a fuel delivery problem. When you're pulling a hill it wants a lot more fuel.
How old is the fuel filter?
Do a test on the lift pump at the schraeder valve (core removed). Pressure should be ~4 PSI and volume should be 1 pint in about 10 seconds.
Check the rubber hose that runs from the frame line to the lift pump. If it's soft or has any sort of kink in it replace it.
