I have a 1992 truck, manual transmission w/ 7.3 IDI non turbo diesel. The engine is bad/knocking and was wondering what is required in order to install a 7.3 IDI turbo engine from 1993 or 1994? Do I need a different wiring harness, injector pump? or does it just go in and it works normally? How about an early 7.3 powerstroke engine? Is that a difficult swap or fairly basic? Any help regarding this matter would be appreciated. Thanks!

You can put any engine in up to a 1994 1/2 without changing anything. If you put in a powerstroke (1994 1/2 and later) you need to change wiring and add computers. It's probably more of a job than it's worth.
