My father in law has a 1995 F250 7.3 turbo and he had it tuned with the Superchips 1705 Micro-tuner software version 2.50. He had it programmed in Tow performance since he does pull a camper from time to time. I was there and he decided to go back to stock mode and after erasing and starting to program stock back to the cpu it faulted giving an error code 127. It also said to call tech support which I did for him. Tech said it had a bad CPU. We ordered and changed the CPU. The truck still does not run nor does it show the start wait light. We have checked all the fuses and basic Items first.

I know quite a bit about vehicles since I have owned my own shop but diesels are a different animal to me.

I have plenty of Manuals from when I was in business, the Large Hard back Motors brand, these are professional manuals like you will find in dealerships. I own these manuals and bought them new and they cover from 1961 all the way to 1992, Yep he has a 1995 and I own no manual to cover this.

I detuned my 2002 F350 back to stock just to check his old CPU and see if it had any codes but my 1705 software version 2.04 just says to check connections on his truck but programs mine just fine. His tuner is Vin locked to his truck and we have connected neither to the new CPU.

His truck cranks over fine but there is NO wait to start light, engine will not run, and Yes it was running just in tow performance mode before he tried to go back to stock. When programming stock it gave the 127 codes after 3 astericks *** and thats the furthest I have seen it make it. It faults and when it is reconnected it says last attempt failed and will erase and try to load stock again.

I told him you could not mess it up "Just follow instructions it gives". I was there and he did everything by the book.

Are there any items that need to be checked or possibly reset on a CPU changeout on this truck? Anyone have any recommendations at all?

where can one find an electrical schematic online for this vehicle or any useful info? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

Thank you in advance /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

Hm good Idea /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif wonder why I did not think of that /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif? Oh Yeah I already had! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/phoney.gif Thats who told me the CPU was bad! I do not need that kind of answers I need someone who may actually have experienced this or may be able to give me some info as to where or what to look for on the Vehicle. I have already replaced the CPU I need info on what if anything that may need to be reset or even where I could find a good set of wiring schematics. If I had those I could find the issue myself by tracing the wiring.

Its not my truck I am just trying to help out an inlaw

Code 127 does not show up in the diagnostic guide. I have seen a PCM fail after trying to remove and install another program. Everything is controlled through the PCM, that being said, if you have no WTS light, no smoke out the exhaust and all she does is crank, I would suspect the PCM. Either install another PCM that you know is good or install that PCM into another 95 to test it. The best bet is to install a known to be good unit, the unit you where sold may not have been programmed or might be faulty.

Could it be because the 127 code is set in the superchips programmer and is a superchips code?

Sorry folks I am sure you all are meaning well but I am looking for info specific to this truck.

I am sure this is not the first time someone has been looking for or even asked for schematics of a truck.

i know a lot of you guys on this site like to work on your own stuff. but, why not take it to a FORD dealer. i took mine into a dealer to look at and they reflashed the pcm, cost me, i think a little under $100.00. of course they will think heres another d__s__t with problems from those f_____g tuners.

here is a thought , If you fried the first PCM and did alot of cranking you may have emptied the high pressure oil pump resevoir , if so it will be a real pain to get it to start. pull the pipe plug on the top of it and check if is full , if not just top it off with oil. i PMed you my cell call up to mid night Eastern time I can tell you a few other possiblities.
