Hey guys I have a 96' f350 4x4 7.3 with a e40D trans in it. Recently I was towing an empty trailer down the highway and started smelling trans fluid, pulled over and it was puking all of what I had for fluid out of my flywheel area (i'm missing the inspection plate so it was coming from there.) I assumed the pump bushing had blown out so I dropped the trans and sure enough the bushing wasn't even seated anymore. Messaged the previous owner and he told me that it was in need of a TC so i'm looking into purchasing a new one of those, but I Bought a new pump seal kit as well. When i went to pull the trans pump there were zero threads in the holes that i'm supposed to screw a bolt into. I'm at a loss on how I should go about getting the pump out. I've tried throwing a vice grip on the fin and pulling towards me and it moved a bit but its not playing nice. Any info or criticism is accepted as I am a self taught mechanic and i'm probably doing something wrong here. thanks.

I've used HeliCoils successfully on several jobs, but I'm a BIG fan of TimeSerts for critical fasteners. IDK how important those are (or even which ones you're talking about), but it's worth looking into, just FYI.
