I have a 1999 f250 7.3 that surges when I start it. Once I hit the accelerator it stops. It drives fine. Any ideas on what it might be? I was thinking something in the fuel distribution system. I just changed the fuel bowl and fuel pressure regulator. That fixed the awful smell and leak, but did nothing for the surge.
So I disconnected the ICP and it did the same. No changes. I thought about changing the ICP, but ended up rebuilding a motor with all new sensors and swapping it out. It's all good now.
