I am new to the Diesel Stop, but I just saw so much great information and help I had to sign up.

I am looking at a low mileage 2000 F350, 7.3, Auto, CC, DRW and I was surprised that Edmunds states max towing capacity is just under 14K lbs. The truck does have an airbag systems under the rear but I am not sure what the limiting factor for towing more weight would be or what I would need to do to increase it. Is my limiter the powerplant, suspension, brakes or all of the above.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!
That seems about correct. I have a 2005 F-350 crew cab automatic with the 6.0L and I think mine is rated just under 16k lbs for "5th wheel" towing (I tow a gooseneck). I also have an airbag system on the rear to help prevent excessive squat. There is very little added weight. I'm surprised the margin is so little between your 2000 dually with the 7.3L and my 2005 with the 6.0L. Not only does the 6.0L have a little more power and torque, it has the 5-speed auto, integrated trailer brake controller, and 17" wheels instead of 16". And frankly - even with the 4.10 axle ratio - I don't think mine in its stock form would tow much more than that comfortably, up hills. Power seems to be the limiting factor. I usually tow 15,900lbs loaded. I cannot maintain the speed limit on steep uphill grades with my foot to the floor.
