Guys,

I had to remove the decorative (plastic) shroud from the top of my motor the other day and the plastic coated nuts that hold it onto the bracket snapped the tip of the bolts off. My question is do I have to buy the decorative shroud to get the (2) nuts ? or can I buy them seperatly ? I just purchased the bracket. Thank You for any help /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Ceece

Ford will probably sell you anything (for a price) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif
Don't feel bad. I had one of the nuts fall out of a socket and ended up in behind the water pump pulley. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
The worst part is its still there. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/phoney.gif

I believe you have to buy a package of six to get them. The best part is there lik 25 or 30 bucks for how ever many are in a package. Ben

During Halloween I use that cover as part of a Samurai costume. Other than that, it sits on a shelf in the garage at all times.

LOL. I was going to say something sorta like that, did not want to diss him. It gets in my way.

I think I still have the nuts somewhere in my garage, I will look for them tomorrow.

I'd recommend removing that shroud, or at least not having nuts holding it down. Unless you keep REAAALLLLY thin, deep-well sockets that will fit it in your truck...you could be SOL if you ever need to get to the fuel bowl on the side of the road (like the gasket fails or something).
The first time I tried to remove it in my driveway drove me BONKERS, and I thought, "Geez, I can't imagine how frustrating this would be if I really needed this thing off in a hurry."

As cool as that little thing is, it's a liability in my view, so I simply removed it. I kept it, sure, but it's not on there for daily driving.
