Going to rotate & check the air pressure in the tires here shortly...they're due for rotation.

Top off the oil and trans fluid; check coolant too; as well as brake fluid reservoir & power steering.

Grease up the U-Joints, and I guess my ball joints, even though the boots have holes. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Wash it, especially the windows, and double-layer of RAIN-X all the windows and lights & mirrors.

Got my binder of MP3 CD's.

Got a toolbox full of tools & extra fluids & pipe benders, hose clamps, misc hoses, zip ties.

Just wondering if there's anything specific I should look at...My last 2 trips I ended up on a flat-bed 3 times. I'd like to avoid that this time.

Hi,
I always have a new, spare belt (serpentine on mine) with me on long trips, or at least check the condition on the old one. Wear/slack indicator on my engine, right by the fan pulley i believe.

Have a nice trip!

I've had my belt tensioner go on me twice, on two different trucks, around the 90-100K mark. I carry one behind my seat along with a new belt as someone already mentioned. Tim /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/warmsmile.gif

Yep, I carry a tensioner and belt with me as well. I would also carry a bit of motor and trans oil and a few gallons of water. I like to use powerservice fuel additive so I buy a gallon or two before a trip so I won't have to look for it on the road. Carry tire plugs and a pump just in case.

cheers
