I am struggling with a F350 7.3L diesel 2001..
changed new batteries
changed new glow plug solenoid
changed new starter solenoid
changed new starter
it is not starting.
with key on:
wait to start light on for 15 seconds and off
no click
no crank
no start.

cant find the diagnostic connector... does anyone know what the color of the 6 wires are to the diagnostic plug? I see some lose wires such as black, blue, white, hanging.
help will be appreciated.

First, stop throwing parts at it. Get a voltmeter. Check for voltage at the small terminal on the fender solenoid while someone turns the key to start. If you have voltage, the problem is in the solenoid or starter. If you don't, the problem is in the ignition switch or the neutral safety switch (in the transmission range sensor) or possibly wiring in between. Check this first and report back. We'll help you pinpoint it.

RT, thank you for the sage advice. I palaced voltmeter on control signal of starter relay on fender wall of passenger side. no voltage on key start.
I placed voltmeter on transmission switch saw 12 volts.
I jumpered battery to control on start relay temporarily and heard a crank.
now I need to troubleshoot the harness from tranny switch to the relay. Any other interlocks in the middle or can I just run a new cable from the tranny safety switch to the starter relay?
the "Wait to start light does go on and off"
