Hello All
I haven't been here for a few years.
My 2003 King Ranch F350, 77,000 miles went into the dealership for an EGR replacement (burning antifreeze and exaust gas coming through the fire wall --really stinks), serious lack of power etc.... Then they called and said they needed to pull the engine to get the heads off -- because everything was "really scorched". Because my truck has a build date of June 2003 and there has been sooo many problems with this first series 6.0 L. How and what should I do to make as much noise to get a replacement. I don't think I want this engine put back in.
Help some input here, I really feel like my back is against the wall.
Thanks

To be honest, there weren't that many problems with the basic 6.0L engine. I'd suggest letting the technicians do what they feel is right, and trust their ability to repair your truck.

Don't forget, new doesn't necessarily mean good...

The question is do you trust the Dealer, Service Manager and Deisel Tech.
Do they have a Ford Master Tech-Deisel guy there?

If the answer is yes to the above, go and talk to them, tell them your concerns.
I am on my way to my Dealer now who I have developed a relationship with the owner so they want to satisfy me. But, I have also called the SM on the carpert a few times for them (the service writers) not communicating the job order to the mechanic correctly.

My 05 350 has had a number of problems, but at 71k miles now, the truck does get better with a little age, as long as the ESP Warranty holds up, I will keep letting them fix it.

If you have Ford ESP, they also have to give you a vehicle to tote around in while they work on it. So, be communicative, but keep your cool. Be persistant, but calm. Make sure they fix it right, and bring it right back if they don't. Make them change the cabin filter too to keep out the oder.

Jim Beam, Did you get a special deal on your cabin filter, they wouldn't sell me one.

Idaho Joe, Just wondering what dealer you're using here in Idaho. I live in Boise and haven't heard much of the dealers around here. Hope all goes well for ya! Thanks, Nick
