I have a 2003 f250 6.0–recently put a long block in. This issue was happening prior to long block install and is the same with the new engine.
First start of the day the truck cranks right away as normal BUT initial fire up the rpm flares to 12-1500 rpm for the snap of your fingers and immediately idles at a much more normal 650-725 until the high idle starts. The colder the morning the harsher the flare. Any help is appreciated, I’ve looked into about everything my I can think of and now hoping someone else may have ran across this before.
