This is my first post on here, some great info so far, thanks. Here go's:
I rolled our company show truck (skinny road, big ditch) and I'm looking to swap the cab out. The truck is a 2004 ford f250 crew cab 6.0l 4x4. I have another donor truck which is a 2003 ford f250 2wd auto 5.4l gas motor with a very straight body. I'm just looking for any advice on doing the cab swap, if the 2003 cab is interchangeable with the 2004, and any advice how to lift the cab off the body (I do not have a floor lift). I saw some interesting posts on lifting the cab, especially one on here where someone built their own forklift cab lifting jig, wish I had that thing. Thanks in advance.

I don't see why you couldn't swap the cabs. You may have to pull out all the instrumentation (dash) and wiring out of the smashed up diesel cab and move it over to get it to work.

Thanks. A buddy of mine is the head service manager at the local dealership and has guided me into what I'm in for. I will have to swap most of the wiring, dash, gauges, tranny and 4x4 control modules over. My main concern is the cab bolting up properly. The cab part numbers from ford are different from an 03 to an 04. 04 to 07 have one part number and 03 and below another one. The only difference I know of is the back seat is different from 03 to 04, no big deal. Otherwise, both cabs have front bucket seats and all the door panels and dash seem to be the same. Both are auto too. The 6.0l diesel also came in 03 trucks, only difference there is the icp sensor is in the back on an 03 motor. But actually, I have in 03 motor in my 04 truck. I ordered the truck as early in 03 as I could thinking that I would get an 04 motor and most of the typical 03 bugs would be worked out, but the truck had a september 03 build date and came with an 03 motor.
Has anyone had any experience with swapping cabs, any super duty years, here? Any advice? Thanks in advance.
