Im thinking about installing an external transmission cooler in my 6.0L pickup and bypassing the factory cooler that's built into the radiator. I'm just wondering if anybody on here has done this and if they have any recommendations for a size of auxillary cooler to use?

Don't do it! You will end up with less total cooling.

Really? I have seen a bunch of these trucks come through at work where the rad pukes internally and fills the transmission full of coolant. That is really my only reason for thinking that the auxillary cooler would be a better route. Do you get less total cooling just because there isn't an auxillary cooler large enough?

mark was one of the de4signers of the tranny. they have a huge tranny cooler on them. if they are having radiator failure issues id look at the head gaskets since it would lead me to suspect combustion gasses in the coolant system.
