Bought this beast sitting on 35's a few months ago and the previous owner had paperwork where it had been bullet proofed and the egr deleted in a truck shop in Meridian, Mississippi. No leaks anywhere, ran like a top, and would pull the river closer to my house. Couple days ago I experienced power loss a few miles from home and had me puzzled because I didn't have any problems before with the truck. . I dropped the trailer and parked it in the carport. The next morning I checked everything, started it up, all the power seemed to be there and everything was all good.... but suddenly a ton of coolant came gushing out like we were at Niagara Falls. The Mammoth is now under the wrench due to the 'compression gasket' between the intake and front cover. My neighbor has a f250 and has the same 6.0 powerstroke engine that he's torn down and preformed upgrades several times over the years so he's helping me with mine. We started by removing what was needed to get down to the intake and found the intercooler boots were cracked (power loss). During this process, we also discovered that the previous owner was a "rigger"by all the ½ hot water pvc pipes, 't's', and fittings wrapped neatly in braided hose protectors along with some electrical tape covered sonic straws as vacuum lines. Once the intake was lifted, the compression gasket looked like it was chiseled out of a blown tire. Now know never to take my truck to that shop that I won't mention. After inspecting and all the ***'s, I just decided now would be the time fix The Mammoth the right way. So, off to the Ford dealership to give them blood. Complete upper engine gaskets, seals, o-rings... upper/lower radiator hoses, heater hoses, metal coolant lines and tank return. I ordered a Raffraff intercooler boot kit, Fix-Ur-6 backflush adapter kit, blue spring upgrade with crossover line, serpentine belt, aluminum 'Y-pipe' (below reservoir tank) Motorcraft oil cooler, Motorcraft oil, fuel and air filter online. I now have a Edge digital on-board gauge monitor to boot. Is there anything I'm missing or overlooking that needs to be checked, tended to or replaced before getting this animal back together? Thanks in advance and all donations excepted.
