Please help i have 2006 F350 6.0lt that is billowing white smoke at idle i have asked dealers they say its the head gaskets and they want 7000.00 to fix it. I have 104,000 miles on it i have replaced the injectors (6300.00). what els could it be. please help i jeust got served divorce papers and the lawyer cost me 8000.00 i'm broke here.

Based solely on just what you said, "white smoke at idle", IMO, most likely it's an an EGR cooler failure but that means you need to change the oil cooler at the same time.

If the dealer discovered more info while diagnosing than just white smoke then I guess HG's could be back on the list.

I would never pay 7K for head gaskets, I'm sure you can find an independent shop that could do it for 1/2 that or a little more.

If it's coolers as I mentioned, my best guess is about 3K.

This is probably a good time to bullet proof the engine, you can research that here, lots of threads to read on it.
