One of our trucks had an issue, the HPP "fell off" the engine. I found that the 3 bolts for the pump to bracket had fallen out, causing the pump to tip down. It was driven this way for a few miles till it stopped running. I got a new pump, bracket and gear. I'm now trying to put it back on the engine. I noticed the drive gear has been kinda ground over from the pump being tipped. 2/3 of the tooth thickness is ok, just the front edges are rounded. Does this pump need to be timed?
