Hi everyone,
So I was headed on a trip from California to Idaho about 76,000 on truck. On the second day a couple hours into it I was in 6th about 1500 rpms and i gave it a little gas pedal as there was a slight upgrade and buck, buck...buck. Then I got off the gas and it was gone. It was very strong and worrisome with the gooseneck and horse trailer in the middle of no where.

On the way home same thing, second day couple hours into it.

Any ideas?

I pulled codes - no codes.
I checked Trans Fluid and it was full and looked clean. Trans fluid and filter replaced at 50,000 at local dealership.

Thanks,
Terry

Sounds like the turbo was getting bogged down due to trailer and hills. These trucks can be kind of funky if you catch them in the wrong situation. Sounds like you needed to give it a tad more pedal to create a downshift in the transmission.

Yes, will keep it in mind. Also ordered an air filter and fuel filter just to be safe. Thanks, Terry

I usually lock 6th gear out when in the hills. I also do that when the road is hilly like some in North Dakota. It was freeway but just rolling hills.
